CALL FOR ENTRIES
Artists’ Interpretations: Buildings & Structures
Architecture, buildings and man-made structures have inspired artists and their artwork for millennia. We are excited to invite Bay Area artists to submit works inspired by what is – not built by nature – but devised by mankind. This call is for depictions of all types of buildings and structures: dilapidated fences, bridges, roller coasters, monuments, iconic buildings or other construction that captivated you enough to create and capture them. Please submit artworks, including photography, that emphasize your interpretation: they may tell a story, reflect an attachment to a place or be a commentary on cultural and social values or concerns. Your cityscape, engineering feat or portal could incorporate interior or exterior views, emphasize materials, negative space or scale, and/or bring dramatic focus on light and perspective.
We invite artists to submit their interpretations of buildings and structures that shape our world. Submissions will be evaluated on engagement with the theme, technique, overall mastery, creativity, and originality.
