Artist's Statement
"Transit Village" honors the high-rise housing that's springing up around public transit systems. I appreciate their mixed-use density that encourages more walking, less driving, and sustainability on land formerly used as parking lots. This transit village miniaturizes a housing policy that is still gaining traction and features a tiny BART train as its focal point. It was made from acrylic monoprints, found wood, toothbrush handles, safety envelopes, a BART ticket.
