About The Artist
Although working diligently behind the scenes for the art community since the late 1980's, Thomas Ryan Gaebel had been away from his craft for the past 35 years, re-emerging as an artist since the pandemic. He enjoys working in oil, acrylic paint, and also develops works in printed, digital mixed media.
Artist's Statement
My art fills an inherent need to tell the viewer a story. I am happy to watch the conversation from a distance and witness the view from the subjects’ eyes. As a re-emerging artist, I am taking the time to rediscover my relationship with color, perspective, composition, and the temperamental qualities of acrylic and oil paints. I often turn to bold colors and whimsical subjects to grab the viewer’s attention and engage their imagination.
